How Solar Works with a Battery:
In the Daytime
Sun shines on the panels and produces DC electricity.
The DC goes through an inverter where it is converted into AC for use in your home.
Excess electricity then fills up your battery.
Once your battery is full, and you are powering your home, any excess electricity goes to the grid and you receive $$ credits.
At Night
At night your solar panels don’t produce energy.
The energy stored in your battery powers your home through the night.
With a back-up battery system, your home will have power during outages — keeping the food in your fridge/freezer from spoiling, the lights on, and your internet connected.
